My family loves when I make cinnamon rolls, especially during the winter holidays. The recipe that I've used came from an article in RealSimple magazine published the September 2018 Make It Yourself column. That was at the start of my baking journey.  

Memorial Day weekend was fast approaching. It was going to be a busy weekend with a 2-year-old birthday party and time with my family.  My dad is supportive but... he prefers simple bakes. So for this holiday, I made cookies. I decided to do three different cookie: Snickerdoodles, Oatmeal Raisin, and Chocolate Chip. The favorites of my family. These are the best made cookies... so far.

Perusing my refrigerator, my eyes landed on a container of fresh blueberries. What could I make? I landed on muffins. I don't use mixes often, except for the Marvelous Oat Bran Muffin Mix from Lindley Mills located in North Carolina.

Participating in my favorite past time of watching baking shows caused me to explore Olive Oil Cakes.  When I first heard of them, I wondered to myself, why would you want to use olive oil for a cake.  I keep seeing them, so to the internet I went to find a recipe so that I could give it a go.

I love chocolate. I especially love chocolate cake. Out at a restaurant, I always try the flourless chocolate cakes, so why not try to make it at home. To share with my family, I have to be mindful of the carbs, so I tried the Flourless Chocolate Cake from King Arthur Baking, substituting Baking Sugar Alternative for the granulated sugar.

Indulging in a favorite seasonal baking show, I heard about the Butter Swim Biscuit. I did a double take! I like making biscuits but I love eating them. I'd never of making them by swimming them in butter, that just sounded groan worthy. The chef explained what they were and we got a glimpse of how to make it. Not very hard to do make, and bonus, the biscuits soak up the butter they took a swim in.

Have you ever wanted homemade dinner rolls but didn't need a couple of dozen? That was me the other day. Searching cookbooks, Amazon, and of course Google. That's how I came across the recipe for Small Batch Dinner Rolls from the Dessert for Two by Chef Christina Lane, who scales down hundreds of recipes for two.

I want cookies but I need to watch carbs, so when I saw this cookie recipe that uses an alternative sugar I had to try it. The challenge: low carb cookies that I will eat.

I was in the mood for cookies. Well, if I am honest, I could always be persuaded to have a cookie.  I decided that I would continue my journey to master shortbread cookies. I have been a little slow to embrace almond flour and thought if I could make a tasty shortbread cookie, I could closer, maybe.
