Baked Paczki for Fat Tuesday

Fat Tuesday is coming up on March 1st and I wanted to try my hand at making Paczkis, except I didn't want to fry them. Truth be told I don't like deep frying. That set me on the hunt for a baked version. A Paczki is a Polish Jelly Donut - sorta. These along with King Cakes are staples for Fat Tuesday aka Mardi Gras starts the day before Ash Wednesday aka Shrove Tuesday. (still with me?)

New Site for Baking Journey

My favorite way to start my Sundays is baking. This morning I was watching a repeat of Best Baker in America and the episode features the Nevada Basque Cake. I was intrigued with the black cherry filling (I love cherries!). As I watched the competitors add their spin to the challenge, I took the internet to look for recipes I could try at home. I stumbled across this site, The Instructables which has a some great instructions and images.

If you have used or seen Craftsy, this site might seem similar. This site is a DIY site were anyone can submit step-by-step instructions. I've checked out a few recipes and I want to try.

Apple Cider Whipped Cream

It's fall and of course that means it is Apple picking season which leads to Apple Cider! I couldn't let my cider go to waste, so I made Apple Cider Whipped Cream.
